AMUZ (Flanders Festival – Antwerp) (BE), the European Union Baroque Orchestra (GB), Kloster Michaelstein (DE) and Estonion Record Productions (EE) joined forces in GOfBaroque, a European project within the framework of the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018. GOfBaroque was co-funded by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union.
Throughout the 2018 year, Europe celebrates the diversity and richness of its heritage. With GOfBaroque (pronounced as ‘go for baroque’), the partnership introduced to a broad public the rich heritage that is baroque music. The tagline #baroquebelongstoEurope also fits nicely with the intentions of Baroque itself, in the 17th and 18th centuries, in wanting to bring art closer to the people, with its flamboyant, colourful and expressive decorations.
